My break into the industry, I was originally a 2D Artist contractor at Activision working on Call of Duty: Mobile. My team was a new experiment: a small content strike-team focused on taking products from start to finish, instead of passing one project between departments. In this role we had a long-scoped content schedule and maintained a fast-paced output.
This team experimented together and learned a lot- from new software and pipelines, to actual game engine programming. My team had such a successful output, every contractor on the team was converted to FTE and was moved up to Call of Duty Warzone content.
